The Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal, usually known as the Basel Convention, was adopted on 22 March 1989 and entered into force on 5 May 1992. The Convention was established for the purpose of protecting human health and the environment against the adverse effects resulting from the generation, transboundary movements and management of hazardous wastes and other wastes. 

This website aims to provide an overview of the legal system in Taiwan regarding the management of import and export of industrial wastes.
